Letter to Eden: Riding the Fresh Horses Brigade

I am coming out of my bloggy hiatus (laziness) to join in the sassy Eden Riley from Edenland's 'Fresh Horse Brigades' weekly task (read all about it here).

This week's task is to share your handwriting with the world.

So here it goes......

I love writing by hand, although now it's mostly delegated to the realm of grocery lists and signing permission slips for school.
When I was younger I used to keep journals where I'd write my deepest secrets and pine over unreciprocated loves. I loved writing weekly letters to my best friend who'd moved to the country. I'd use  different coloured pens with scented inks and decorate the envelope with handdrawn flowers and lipstick kisses.

I love stationary stores and still swoon over pretty journals and gorgeous jet-black ink fineliners.

In this day and age of emails and texts and writing on Facebook walls, I still treasure the delight of receiving a handwritten letter or card in the mail.

Some of my most precious gifts from my husband are little love notes he left about the house for me to find.

Do you write letters? When was the last time you received a handwritten letter? What does your handwriting reveal about you?

Wow, love your handwriting! Mine has deteriorated over the years as it's usually rushed (and usually for shopping lists it's a scribble! lol. But I used to love writing letters often, now I share writing them with my 8.5yr old daughter. She loves waking up to them, and she replies. She also sends letters to older relatives who will reply in the snail mail. Otherwise it's email's these days. Cheers,Karen.

Thanks so much Karen! Yes, my writing is so rushed nowdays too, it's turned into a scribble :( But if it's true that you can tell a lot about a person by their handwriting than I'm Curvy, Messy and a lil bit all over the place ;) Thanks for commenting! xxx

Thank you Kirri, my sweet! My writing break stretched out longer than expected (drawback of school holidays). Even now, I have to leave my laptop every 5 mins to shuffle my little minxes back to bed (cheeky things). Look forward to sharing so much with you this year, Kirri!!! Thank you so much for all your darling support. Means the world to me! ♥ xxx

Hi Lucy! Thank you so much for popping by! My sister says I have roller-coaster writing, she gets dizzy following the curves of my letters (poor sis). Long live the Sisterhood of the Lunch-Note Writing Mammas! xxx

Your handwriting is so beautiful! It looks like it tells a story even before you start to read the words.

I wrote 15 thank you notes last week - for my son's 3rd birthday! Thank you notes and "just because" notes are my favourite.

Thank you so much Kate! Wow, I love your action on the thank you notes for your son's birthday. I'm sure the people that received them would have been touched by the gesture. It's so special when someone takes the time to handwrite something. 'Just because' notes are my favourite too! xxx

Gorgeous!

I don't know about you, but reading and seeing all these wonderful posts about handwriting has inspired me to put literal pen to paper, and start writing. Even just a post card, or a card, to a friend. How lovely would it be to get one of those in the post instead of just bills...
